1. What are you currently reading?

Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know by Cyan Wings (historical cultivation/xianxia danmei): this has been my next danmei to read for ages, but I told myself I wouldn't read it til I'd gotten through more of my physical TBR, but I was staring at the stack of books and was just like. nope. fuck it. and started this. Really enjoying it so far. Getting the sense that Wenren E is a much bigger dumbass idiot than his pov narration suggests and looking forward to him figuring that out.

2. What have you finished reading recently?

• Supermutant Magic Academy by Jillian Tamaki (modern with superpowers, wlw and mlm): this was a big miss for me. It's a collection of vignettes for the most part, and the humor just didn't click for me at all, I guess I'm not the target audience or something.
• I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly and J. K. Ken Niimura (modern magical realism/might be no magic? it's open to interpretation): very powerful story about the nature of grief and grieving.
• The Husky and His White Cat Shizun vol. 6 by Meatbun Doesn't Eat Meat (historical cultivation/wuxia danmei): loved this volume. The knives will be starting soon though. I'm already pre-grieving for stuff I know has gotta be in the next volume, sigh.
• My Hero Academia vol. 17 and 18 by Kohei Horikoshi: enjoyed the end of the most recent arc, definitely got me more interested even if I didn't end up loving the pacing. Waiting for the next arc to start.
• Haikyu! vol. 10 by Haruichi Furudate: continues to be fine, idk.

3. What will you be reading next​?

My next-up graphic novels from the library are Displacement by Kiku Hughes and The Deep Dark by Molly Knox Ostertag. I expect Devil Venerable will be my only novel, I'm only about 10% done with it in two days, so.
